Gas Money Saving Myths

29 May 2008 In: Revolutions

With gas prices reaching over $4.oo a gallon, there are a lot of recommendations on saving money and gas in your car. Of course the best effort is to aim for a hybrid and simply attempt to drive less. Here is a list of the few suggestions floating around that are completely inaccurate.

“#1. Fill your tank in the morningYou may have heard that it’s best to fill your gas tank in the early morning while the fuel is cold. The theory goes that fluids are more dense at lower temperatures, so a gallon of cold gas actually has more gas molecules than a gallon of warmer gas.

But the temperature of the gasoline as it comes out of the nozzle varies little during the course of the day, according to Consumer Reports, so there’s little, if any, benefit, to getting up early to pump gas.

I haven’t blogged in weeks and I have no excuse as to why I took such a hiatus. Having been gone for such a time I have a few things to update on:

1) I would like to thank the douche bag who left me the comment on my Hard Rock Park post.
First off Mr. Seriously, if you knew the area (which obviously you don’t) you would not think the entrance to the park would next to Harbour Lights. You would think it would be next to the backstage tour..at least that is the logical entry point. Secondly thank you for admitting that you are a drunk driver and intentionally threatening the lives of the people around you. Thirdly thank you for your hilarious reference to genitalia and its symbolism in regards to the Zepplin coaster. I’m sure the eight inches you are referring to is located on your wife.

Hard Rock Park Myrtle Beach, SC

4 May 2008 In: Revolutions

When I heard that 5 million dollar theme park was being built in Myrtle Beach, I was so excited. I worked @ resort right next to the proposed area and all I could think about was getting a season pass and taking a ride on a roller coaster when I got off of work each day.

First the Backstage Tour went up. It was a free mini tour of what the park would look like and a pre-gift shop with some rock memorabilia. It was decent however I was disappointed on how the park was set to be laid out.

Hard Rock Park is now a reality off of Hwy 501. I got a few VIP passes from work so N* and I went there last night for a first glimpse at the park. It’s grand opening is set for May 9th. The park was exactly as expected, semi-entertaining but overall a let down.

Iron Man

2 May 2008 In: World

N* and I went out on a cute little date last night.
We went over to Market Commons to check out the new movie theater. It was very impressive! Even if the tickets are .50 more than the tickets at the mall, we will never go to another place. The seats were nicely cushioned and the dolby audio was perfect. Anywho, we went and saw Iron Man and it was sooo fantastic!! I recommend this movie to everyone. Go see it! Its official release worldwide is tonight! There is plenty of action for the guys and a cute little semi love story for the girls…not to mention Robert Downey Jr looks sexy through the whole film!

2 May 2008 In: Personal

I was tagged by Damien Riley–so thanks for that Damien!–and here goes nothing…

First off da rules:

1. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.
3. At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names.
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment and tell them they’ve been tagged, and to read your blog.

Random facts about me:

1. I am trying to involve myself in humanitarian aid. I would like to focus on hunger and the outbreak of diseases in 3rd world countries.

2. I am obsessed with kittens. Their cuteness over powers me!

3. My favorite TV Shows are old 90’s sitcoms. We just don’t have great TV like that anymore.

4. I pinch myself when I start to complain, reflect back on myself and start my thought process again.

5. Even if don’t admit it, I wish I could see my family more often.

6. My dream vacation would be to the Maldives Islands. It costs an arm and a leg to go.

7. My blue eyes are often described as looking into the bottom of a sun filled pool- if that makes any sense.

8. If I could, I would eat caesar salad for every meal for life–or at least until I got sick of it.

Girls Gone Wild in Myrtle Beach

2 May 2008 In: Misc

I was trying to leave my office today, which happens to be on the boulevard, and I hear this loud humming. I look to my right and there is the gigantic Girls Gone Wild bus. Two guys in white tees walk over to me and I quote “If you show us some action, you could be on TV!!”. I just about peed myself in hilarity. What were they thinking? “We are with Girls Gone Wild, filming a new video, and you would be perfect!” My response of course was laughter and a polite No Thank You. I did run into the parking garage a little faster than usual however.  If this afternoon was this great, what shall my night hold?!?

Mr. Tennant has sent oubipaws an email threatening to take legal action against my personal quotes of him in my last post. I know you will be reading this Mr. Tennant. You do not have any legal standing over my personal blog, however as a courtesy to you should you like me to take any of the information that offends you down, please send me a message asking me to do so and do the same in taking down any offensive information pertaining to oubipaws or myself.

You think these folks are nuts?  Now he’s got his wife beating up on me for exposing his foolishness.

She’s really nasty and has stooped just as low as him, complete with lies and attributing statements to me I’ve never made.  Getting out of control here folks.

Keep posting lies about me and it will come back to you MsCaesi and Oubipaws.” (Off of Mr. Tennant’s website)

The only thing that is getting out of control is Mr. Tennant’s idea that he can control the people around him. I have not done anything that is “nasty” or stated any lies about him. Why does he feel the need to personally attack me so?

::boo::hoo:: To my ever loving readers, do you agree with Mr. Tennant, would you say that I am nuts?

Thank you for the link!!

People Who Hide Behind Computers..

30 Apr 2008 In: Anti-This

Mr. Marty Tennant has started a rant again which is seemingly pleasing the 15 people on his message boards. He even made an effort to post a comment on my last post:

“Hey bitch, your husband is so scared about the comments he made on his “personal website” about the Georgetown Times and their advertisers that he deleted them. Why? No balls. And you? No brains.”

First off, let us applaud Mr. Tennant for his maturity in referring to me as a bitch.
He is just the type of person to hide behind his keyboard and rant to himself about others.

::insert nasty comment here:: ( To whom it may concern, I removed this comment simply because the more I read it (and laughed) the more I realized that I was stooping to the same level as the aforementioned enemy… I decided that wasn’t a place that I would like to be.

A quote from Mr. Tennant himself ” You don’t know who you are messing with” and “I run this town”. Sorry to break the news to you, but you are nothing more than a 40 year old nut job living in a s*hole who gets off on putting other people down. The level of respect for you Mr. Tennant is at a negative two.

So Mr. Tennant is the owner of Citizensreport.com (no link). Should you visit GeorgetownTimes.com (again no link) you will be redirected to his site. The reason I bring this man up is because I think that he acts like a child. I am going to post my response to his forum post here on my blog simply because his site is so dysfunctional I’ve been sitting here for over 40 minutes waiting for a confirmation email.

Here is where it all started:

Today Mr. Tennant posted this on his message boards in regards to gtowntimes.com (the newspaper):

“Has anyone seen the poll about whether Steve Thomas should be fired on the Times website?
Over 12,000 yes votes. Come on folks. How many times have people voted more than once?
Of course, that is a Southern/Georgetown tradition!”

Oubipaws, the internet director of the Georgetown Times website responded:

“I really hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my polls automatically catch IP addresses and dump duplicated votes every several hours thanks to lovely CRON jobs. Yesterday alone we had someone trying to game the system by voting over 4,000 times as a “No.”

Mr. Tennant further uses his own website to personally bash oubipaws and try to make himself look better. Sorry Mr. Tennant but you have proved that you are an immature bastard.
