-DHA is a fancy way to describe Omega-3 which can be found in fish oil. DHA helps keep your nerve endings firing and helps encase muscles. Try to consume 600mg DHA or 2 grams of fish oil, whichever you prefer.

2. Take Ribose Supplements.
-Ribose is a simple sugar that is produced by the body and cannot be found in food. Taking ribose supplements often helps with ailments associated with low energy levels. Keep in mind, some folks may react differently and find that they have too much energy–if there is such a thing! Start with 500 mg three times a day for a week or so then go to 5 grams three times a day for three weeks to get a sense of the effect. Then you can scale back to 5 grams twice a day. Side Note: A 5 gram scoop=20 calories.

3. Increase your physical activity.
-Feeling a bit sleepy? Get up, do a quick stretch and take a brisk walk around your building. By increasing your daily movement, this causes your body to expend more energy which in turn provides you with more at your dispense.

4. Increase your sleep.
-Eight hours is truly the key amount to a good nights rest. If you can get a full eight hours then go for it! You will definitely feel a difference in yourself come 3 in the afternoon. Sleep in essential to restore your hormonal balance.

5. Change your diet.
-Increase your daily intake of water and proteins. sometimes dehydration is what could be sucking the life right out of you. Aim to drink enough water to keep your mouth moist all day long. Also, do as best you can to avoid sugars that end in -ose (i.e, sucralose, glucose).

6. Take care of your teeth.
-It all starts with your mouth. If your teeth are not healthy, odds are your body is not either. Make sure to floss daily and use a non-alcohol based mouthwash often. These are steps that will help to prevent certain types of infections–ones that can decrease your energy levels.

7. Start a vitamin B regimen.
- Most of us do not consume enough vitamin b in our diets. Take a multi-vitamin twice a day and you will be sure to have your energy levels perk up.

8. Drink Green Tea.
- It is rich in antioxidants and has one third less caffeine than black tea, which will help you avoid a caffeine crash. I recommend trying chai tea as a sweeter alternative.

I wanted to change a lot of things with my big move to Texas. I wanted to take better care of myself, my family and my planet. I did a little searching and found a lot of ways to be eco-friendly and “green”. Here are a few of my favorites:

1. Make your own shampoo:
- Mix an oil (such as coconut or olive oil) with some vinegar. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil fragrance and you have a great chemical free one of a kind shampoo. I am still searching for a conditioner.

2. Make your own cleaning products:
- Here is a great recipe to make your own all purpose spray that is all natural and cleans just as well as all purpose bleach.

Gorgeously Green All-Purpose Spray
from Sophie Uliano, author of Gorgeously Green: 8 Simple Steps to an Earth-Friendly Life,

32-ounce plastic spray bottle

2 cups water

1/2 cup distilled white vinegar

1 teaspoon pure castile soap (peppermint is a favorite)

3/4 cup hydrogen peroxide

20 drops tea tree oil

20 drops of lavender or lemongrass essential oil

Simply fill a large 32-ounce plastic spray bottle with the water. Add the vinegar, castile soap, hydrogen peroxide, tea tree oil and lavender or lemongrass essential oil.

**Lavender is lovely for the bathroom spray and lemongrass for the kitchen, so make two separate bottles at the same time.
**In the hot summer months, add about 10 drops of citronella essential oil to the spray, as it is an excellent insect repellent.
**This spray is suitable for acrylic, ceramic tile, wood, marble and granite.

3. Take a look at eco-friendly fashions:
- A simple google search can find you plenty of stores and online catalogs to search through to find stylish clothes made out of all organic materials. These clothes (depending on where you purchase them) can be cheaper, last longer and are very cute. I’m currently searching on Fresh and Green for all kinds of eco-friendly products.

4. Buy in Bulk:
- When you purchase foods (preferably organic!) in bulk it typically costs less and it uses less packaging!

5. Reduce your carbon footprint:
- Walk, bike, and carpool as often as you can. This will save you money, get your exercise in and reduce your amount of carbon emissions.

Green is definitely the new Black!

Texas. I’m not so sure what to say about it just yet.
We moved here from South Carolina about two weeks ago and I haven’t gotten a feel for the area.

My stress levels have never been higher, which I’m sure anyone could understand. I left everything I knew in Myrtle Beach: family, friends, job, home…I miss it all a lot. On top of all of it we are dealing with housing issues (that I cannot currently discuss) in both states. One more thing on my plate that is bringing me closer to insanity.

I had my first real breakdown a few days ago, I can’t even remember what Nicholas said to me but next thing I knew I was crying and screaming for a good 10 minutes straight. FYI- if this happens, the man in the relationship should just console his better half and let her cry. It was a tearful mess. Sometimes a good cry is all you need.

Now that the initial shock of moving 20 hours away has worn off I’m trying to make the best of living here.
I know how to get to the mall, the movie theater, and to the grocery store. I’m learning to love the Texas Aggies and the super fast speed limits.

The only thing I can hope for as things slow down and become more stable is to be happy.

I’ve taken the time to come back today and post something that is very important to me right now.

If you are at all religious, please pray for my biological father.

When I was about 6 or so I found him collapsed in our bathroom. I called 911 and he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He underwent surgery and chemotherapy but he was never the same. Since his recovery some 15 years ago he is still having trouble with his health. Over the past two years he has suffered from seizures and several strokes. It is now hard for him to take care of himself and accomplish simple tasks. Its extremely difficult for him to communicate. He gets confused easily and it is hard for him to describe what he is trying to tell you. Last Month, at only 42, My step-mom (who might I say I’m not to fond of) placed him in an assisted living home. He is surrounded by old folks 5 days a week and visits his home on weekends. It breaks my heart to think of everything he is going through.

Hopefully in the next few months I will find the time to travel with N* up to visit my family in New York. They are so far away and I am afraid that my father doesn’t have much time left. Please pray for him and his health. I don’t want to lose him.

I cannot get enough of this show! I don’t know what it is about it but every Tuesday night, N* and I find ourselves glued to the couch for an hour watching ABC family. Has anyone else watched it at all?

The basic plot of the show is based around teenage pregnancy. The main character Amy, has her first sexual encounter at Band Camp (no laughs about it) with basically the equivalent of the school’s male whore Ricky. The show is all about how it is affecting her high school career and all of the stress involved with telling her family.

Of course there are side stories of cheating fathers, failed marriages, religion, fitting in and of course sex. I think the show may be a little surprising for some of the younger generation, but that it overall is a good show to watch with all of the family. It has alot of great messages and still manages to be ridiculously entertaining.

I’m counting down till next week’s episode!
Check out The Secret Life of An American Teenager, Tuesdays @ 8pm (Eastern time) on ABC Family.

a) bluegreen may be bought out by diamond resorts. they are currently in talks over purchasing the company for $15 per share which is double what it was worth at the time. im not sure whether or not i should be concerned over the buyout. it has been made clear by our higher ups that their decision will be based upon 1) our owners and 2) the employees. i could end up not having a job come sept 15, or in a fabulous world i could end up with a much larger salary. wouldnt that be fabulous?

b) i did some closing paperwork for a woman who was terminally ill today. she had some type of blood disease and this really got me thinking into what i would do if i only had 6 months to live. what would you do if you were (to quote tim mcgraw) to live like you were dying?

c) a friend of mine applied for a job in my office. she didnt get the position and i am sad and happy at the same time. i would have loved to spend more time with her, but after seeing her for that short while i realized that although we are a few months apart in age, our maturity levels are incomparable. maybe i just handle myself differently because ive been in a professional business for some time now. have you ever recommended a friend to work in your office?

1) I hate Myrtle Beach in July. It is like every god forsaken idiot travels here with their entire family of idiots to come on vacation. They drive like they have never been in a car, walk like they have no idea what a crosswalk is and are ridiculously rude. I am so ready for tourist season to be over.

2) I’m tired of people being arrogant and condescending. The people that act like this truly are the lowest of the low and seriously need a reality check. If they would take thirty seconds to pull their head out of their ass they would realize that they are disliked by everyone, including their own family.

3) I’m Irish and I can’t drink. I just turned 21 and I can’t drink. I had one margarita the other night and thought I was going to hurl. Something about liquor just hitting my stomach knocks me out. Its so dissapointing.

4) Wall-E the game is not a children’s game. Do not buy this game for your kids!! I was playing it on the 360 for some easy achievement points and at first it was okay. I’m at level 6 now and it so complicated and a serious headache. I gave up and turned the system off. It is far to advanced for an 8 year old.
